The House of Hope and Restoration
To serve women's spiritual and physical needs.
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.
-Romans 15:13
The Vision behind HOH
I was driving down Main Street in Brundidge, Al. and my gaze fixed on a vacant house. I had
passed by a dozen of times before, but this time, I pulled into the driveway and stopped the car. I had this strange feeling about the house. I walked around and peeked inside the windows and saw how beautiful the house must have been in the past. Unfortunately, it was now in extreme disrepair. Still wanting to see more of what was inside, I was surprised to find the back door open. Slowly opening the door, I felt a strange sensation come over me, and I heard a still small voice say this place shall be called Hope. It will become a beacon of light in a world of darkness and this house will be reborn to help struggling people’’.
That was the beginning of what is now a dream come true. The house that stood empty, with seemingly no purpose, was to become The House of Hope and Restoration. For every obstacle, God made a way. For every need, God provided. There were so many situations that all fit together. It was a puzzle and every piece fell right into place. After a year and a half of restoring the home, it now serves as a transitional home for up to 10 adult women.
“My husband and I have a heart for this, A member of our immediate family has been suffering with addiction and has lived majority of his life incarcerated. At a young age he fell into addiction. Without God we would not have made it this far. And we don’t want other families to have to go through what we’ve been through.
With this house, we stepped out in faith, believing as God as our guide we could help those who are in similar situations. The storms in life will come. They could be drugs, alcohol, abuse, homelessness, incarceration or aged out foster children. Life is full of ups and downs, and we all need help from time to time. The home is for anyone who needs shelter in the storms of life. My prayer is that people will come along side of these women and help us help them.
The House of Hope and Restoration is a faith-based 501C-3 program that provides a discipline environment, counseling, life skills, and job-skills training. It is our mission to help women restore their lives, as they do, they can become all that God intended them to be.
I pray that you will come along beside of the House of Hope and Restoration and help us, help these women. Please consider partnering with us, as we work to restore their lives.
